The Side Effects Which are Caused by Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy Effects not only on cancer cells, but any cell that increases quickly is also effected by chemotherapy .This includes those in your skin and bone marrow, cells which generate hair and the linings of digestive system and mouth. The loss of these healthy cells may cause different type of side effects such as;

Skin changes as your skin may become discolored and dry.
Diarrhea or constipation
Hair loss and thinning of hair
Breathlessness
Getting infections more easily
Changes in hearing as to feel ringing sound in ears
Feeling sick
Numbness in your feet and hands

Most side effects are temporary and will reduce or removed after the treatment is over. Many side effects can be controlled using other medicines. For example, sickness can be reduced by using anti-sickness medicines. Side effects can be different according to different patients. One patient can be ill with chemotherapy while another may be fit by using it.

Tiredness is the most common side effect of chemotherapy and can be continued for a long time .Most of the patient get their energy level back within six months after finishing chemotherapy .There is also a risk of becoming infertile after chemotherapy.
